Automatically Collected Information

• Usage data (reading speed preferences, document count)

• Anonymous, aggregated usage measurements: reading speed test results (words per minute, comprehension score) and reading session statistics (word counts, reading speed, session length, source type such as pasted text or file upload). These are tied to a random identifier generated in your browser for the duration of your visit, never to your identity or account, and are never linked to the actual text you read.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• The content of documents you read: all text processing happens locally in your browser, and no document text, titles, filenames, or URLs are ever sent to our servers
• Your uploaded files are not stored on our servers
• No cookies and no personal identifiers are used to collect the usage measurements above

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the Service
• Process your subscription payments
• Send transactional emails (receipts, subscription updates)
• Improve and optimize the Service
• Respond to your support requests

4. Data Storage

Your preferences and subscription status are stored locally in your browser using localStorage. This means that data stays on your device. We use Stripe for payment processing, which stores payment information securely according to PCI-DSS standards. Separately, we store the anonymous, aggregated usage measurements described above (reading speed test results and reading session statistics) on our servers so we can publish aggregate benchmarks, such as typical reading speeds across all visitors. These records contain no personal identifiers and no document content.

• Vercel — for hosting the application
• Vercel Analytics — for anonymous, privacy-friendly usage analytics (no cookies, no personal data)

Read Fast uses localStorage to store your preferences and subscription status. We do not use tracking cookies. Vercel Analytics collects anonymous page view data without using cookies or collecting personal information, and the anonymous usage measurements described above are also collected without cookies or personal identifiers.
